The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board has given the green light to the School of Health Professions at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio to offer a new master of science degree in respiratory care. The first classes will begin this fall.
David Shelledy, dean of the School of Health Professions, said millions of Americans suffer from cardiopulmonary diseases and need the specialized care a respiratory therapist with a graduate-level degree can provide.
