A new study demonstrates for the first time an association between structural alteration of bronchi and pulmonary hypertension in COPD, according to an article published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.
Researchers say mechanisms coupling PH and bronchial obstruction are unknown, but hypothesized that CT measurement of airway remodeling instead of emphysema may correlate with PH in COPD.
