Convexity Scientific Inc has released the Flyp, a new pocket-portable, vibrating mesh nebulizer designed for respiratory conditions such as asthma and COPD.

An all-in-one design, Flyp requires no additional masks, tubes, or external power sources. Powered by a USB rechargeable lithium-ion that lasts 10 treatments between recharging, patients can stop wasting time and money on batteries. Flyp delivers on portability and usability, which may result in increased compliance to recommended treatment schedules, according to the company.

According to the company, using it is as simple as Fill, Click, Breathe. “For years, the patient has been asked to fit their life to their nebulizer. Now, there’s a nebulizer that fits into their life,” the company says.

Powered by HypersonIQ technology, the disk vibrates at 2000x the speed of a hummingbird’s wings. As medication passes through 1000 precision holes it aerosolizes for delivery to the lungs, achieving a high respirable fraction (88% Albuterol, 90% Ipratropium Bromide).

Flyp was developed over 3 years by a team of engineers and underwent rigorous testing. The result is a product which allows respiratory therapists and other healthcare professionals to offer their patients both convenience and performance.
