Fisher & Paykel Healthcare has launched F&P Visairo, a hospital under-nose mask for noninvasive ventilation, in the United States.

Fisher & Paykel Visairo is a new high-performance under-nose hospital mask with dynamic support technology. This allows for bridge-free noninvasive ventilation, which eliminates pressure from the bridge of the nose and clears the way for an open field of vision, without compromising on stability and performance. Stability wings in the mask frame provide support for the floating seal to remain comfortable and stable on the patient’s face.

The mask is available in three sizes to correspond to the dimensions of the patient’s nose.

In trials of Fisher & Paykel Visairo, 96% of clinicians rated the mask ‘very good’ or ‘good’ for performance, and 95% rated it ‘very good’ or ‘good’ for comfort.1

“The feedback we have received from clinicians has been impressive,” said Dr Andrew Somervell, VP Products and Technology for Fisher & Paykel Healthcare.

“For hospital patients who require higher levels of respiratory support without intubation, Visairo provides a more comfortable experience, so the therapy is more likely to be effective. It sits comfortably on the face and allows for a clear field of vision, so patients can wear glasses, read or watch television during their treatment,” said Dr Somervell.

F&P Visairo is currently available in the US, New Zealand, Australia, and Europe and will be released to other regions upon receiving regulatory clearances.

1Clinicians’ responses were collected at 12 different hospitals in the US, Canada and Australia. Data was gathered from at least 93 responses.
