Micro Direct Inc, Lewiston, Me, offers the MicroLab and MicroLoop portable spirometers, which feature a high-visibility screen that can display both volume/time curves and complete flow/volume loop, “milkshake kid” child incentive, alphanumeric keypad, on-screen quality assurance prompts, choice of nine predicted values, choice of nine languages, choice of 30 spirometry parameters, and storage capacity for 1,000 patients. The MicroLab comes complete with an integral printer or can be connected directly to a printer for an 8 1/2ý x 11ý printout. The MicroLoop can be connected directly to a printer for an 8 1/2ý x 11ý printout. The Microlab and MicroLoop spirometers can also be used with the optional Spida 5 PC software for real time testing on a PC or for download of the test results at a later time.
