Invacare Corp, Elyria, Ohio, is donating medical equipment to assist in relief efforts in Joplin, Mo, where a massive tornado struck on May 22, 2011. The company is donating oxygen cylinders, mattresses, crutches, and other equipment.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to those families affected by the tornado in Joplin, Missouri,” said Brian Ellacott, vice president and general manager of commercial operations for North America at Invacare. “In light of this terrible tragedy, and as the rescue efforts continue, Invacare is donating equipment to help those impacted by this devastating storm.”

The oxygen cylinders were supplied through Catalina Cylinders and distribution of the cylinders to those in need will be coordinated through Cox Home Support Systems. Invacare is donating all the equipment through the Friends of Disabled Adults and Children.
