Respironics Inc, Murrysville, Pa, received its 11th Zenith Award at a ceremony on December 1, 2007, that opened the 53rd International Respiratory Conference of the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) in Orlando, Fla. Each year, members of the AARC, which icomprses more than 44,000 clinicians and researchers who use respiratory care equipment, devices, and pharmaceutical products, choose the recipients through a special ballot vote; the top-five-voted companies receive the coveted Zenith Award.
“We are honored and excited to be among the five companies receiving the Zenith Award. It affirms for us that Respironics has been successful in both helping our customers succeed and in furthering the respiratory care profession,” said John Miclot, president and CEO. “We look forward to 2008 as we continue to bring innovative products, outstanding service and valued solutions to the market.”
Nearly 400 companies, including manufacturers, service organizations and supply companies, were nominated. The award recognizes providers based on the quality of their equipment and/or supplies, accessibility and helpfulness of their sales personnel, responsiveness, service record, truth in advertising, and their support of the respiratory care profession. The election process makes the award one of the most prestigious in the respiratory care profession.
“The Zenith Award is a way for our members to recognize manufacturers and service organizations that have performed outstanding work for them and their employers,” said Sam P. Giordano, AARC executive director. “Respironics typifies the qualities represented in the criteria of the award, and because of this, we are pleased to present them with the Zenith Award,” he continued.
