President Donald Trump has urged parents to get their kids vaccinated against measles in light of the nation’s biggest outbreak in a quarter century.
“They have to get the shots. The vaccinations are so important. This is really going around now. They have to get their shots,” Trump told CNN’s Joe Johns on Friday when asked what his message is for parents.
In a statement the [CDC] said that as of 3 pm, it counted 695 cases of the illness this year. A UNICEF study found that measles deaths were up by 22% in 2017, and complacency and fear of vaccines were among the factors leading to less vaccinations.
