Politico.com is reporting that former President George H.W. Bush has been hospitalized in Houston with “a mild case of pneumonia.”

Bush was admitted to Houston Methodist Hospital last Friday, according to a statement from his office, to treat “a persistent cough that prevented him from getting proper rest.” The source of that cough turned out to be pneumonia which has since been “treated and resolved,” Bush’s office said.

The former president remains hospitalized “for further observation while he regains his strength” but “is in very good spirits.”

Bush’s trip to the hospital is his second this year for pneumonia, although the more recent bout appears to have been less severe than the first.
