Vapotherm Announces AARC Presentations

Nellcor Signs Purchasing Agreements
Nellcor, part of Tyco Healthcare, Pleasanton, Calif, has been awarded a 3-year contract for pulse oximetry equipment and sensors by the group purchasing arm of Premier Inc. The agreement extends the relationship between Nellcor and Premier until August 31, 2005, and includes the Nellcor® OxiMax™ Pulse Oximetry System, which includes the N-595 pulse oximeter and MAX-FAST™ Forehead Adhesive Sensor.

In other company news, Lifespan, a not-for-profit health care system based in Providence, RI, has purchased and will install 296 N-595 pulse oximeters. www.nellcor.com.

Nonin and Penell Partner for Product Development
Nonin Medical Inc, Plymouth, Minn, has signed an agreement with Penell A/S of Denmark, for the two companies to develop advanced pulse oximetry with wireless monitoring using Bluetooth™ technology. This wireless pulse oximeter will eliminate the need for the cable that connects a sensor, often attached to the patient’s fingertip, with a monitor. Westmed Acquires Owens-BriGam
Tucson, Ariz-based Westmed has recently acquired the assets and ongoing business of Owens-BriGam Medical Co, a manufacturing company out of Morganton, NC. The acquisition expands Westmed’s product scope into both respiratory and anesthesia related care markets.
