CareFusion, San Diego, is donating 100 CareFusion LTV® 1200 ventilators and 200 Alaris® infusion pumps to aid in the ongoing earthquake relief efforts in Haiti. The company has also purchased 100,000 bottles of silver dihydrogen citrate (a water purification product) to donate. The company’s donations total over $3 million.

"Our customers have been very accommodating with their delivery schedules to enable us to divert ventilators and infusion pumps towards the relief efforts in Haiti," said David Schlotterbeck, chairman and chief executive officer of CareFusion. "We are working now with non-profit agencies to ensure the products are in position to help as soon as possible in the relief effort."

The LTV 1200 ventilator is a compact ventilator designed to help patients breathe across a variety of settings ranging from transport to the emergency room to intensive care. The Alaris infusion pumps are portable devices that help deliver medication dosages into a patient in a variety of care settings.

The silver dihydrogen citrate solution for water purification is developed by Pure Biosciences of El Cajon, Calif.
