This week marks the American Association for Respiratory Care’s (AARC) Virtual Lobby Week, aimed at raising congressional awareness of HR 941, The Medicare Respiratory Therapy Initiative.
According to the AARC, the goal of the week is “to get the attention of Capitol Hill just before your state’s Political Advocacy Contact Team (PACT) representatives come to Washington, DC, for our profession’s annual Capitol Hill Lobby Day, March 6.” The Alpha 1 Association, the Pulmonary Hypertension Association, the Alpha 1 Foundation, and the COPD Foundation will join the AARC’s representatives at the Capitol Hill Lobby Day.
The AARC is calling on respiratory therapists, pulmonary patients, and others to visit its Virtual Lobby Week Web site, where visitors can find details about how to email or call their members of Congress. The Web site also includes information about the Medicare Respiratory Therapy Initiative.
