Harvard Medical School issued a report stating that asthma is the single most important factor in increasing the risk of death from anaphylaxis, or allergic shock.
The report, What To Do About Allergies, warns that even the mildest form of asthma can have an effect on the risk of death from anaphylaxis, which is responsible for more than 500 deaths a year in the United States.
Experts advise those with both asthma and a food allergy carry epinephrine, or adrenaline, with them at all times.
