The American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) has asked respiratory therapists in Texas to support an initiative that would establish a strategic plan for asthma and COPD.

The Texas COPD and asthma bills, in both the Texas Senate and House, are asking for the establishment of such a plan within the Texas Department of State Health Services. AARC said the bills “will be a tremendous step forward towards achieving the goal of recognizing, diagnosing, treating, and, most importantly, mitigating chronic respiratory disease.”

AARC has sent an email to all Texas members on the issue and is asking them to write to their legislators and tell them of the devastating impact they see from COPD and asthma on patients and their families’ lives.
