A 17-year-old from Sauk Rapids, Minnesota is recovering after a possible asthma attack led to a near-drowning.

According to a release from the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office issued Monday, 17-year-old Ryan Gordon was on a tube, swimming in the lake with friends and family when he decided to swim back to shore with his 21-year-old brother, Antonio Costantino.

While swimming, Gordon told his brother he didn’t think he could make it. Costantino reported to authorities Gordon’s face was turning blue just before he went below the water’s surface.
