According to a study published in Respirology, 10 asthma traits present in severe asthmatics can help predict future asthma exacerbations, yet are not frequently assessed.

These traits are more prevalent in those with severe disease compared with non-severe disease, and can help clinicians develop individual treatment plans, researchers wrote.

Traits include: Exacerbation prone; depression; vocal cord dysfunction; inhaler device polypharmacy; obstructive sleep apnea; and more.
