British clinical hypnotherapist and dot com entrepreneur John Wesdorp has launched a Web site designed to help smokers quit through hypnosis. The first online hypnotherapy clinic launched September 3.

“Hypnotherapy has proven success in helping people to quit smoking. It’s just the method of delivery that is new,” says Wesdorp.

The Web site, www.nosmokingagain.com will allow smokers to log on and receive instant hypnotherapy any hour of the day. Smokers answer a questionnaire about their smoking habits before listening to an audio hypnotherapy session. Participants must smoke more than 5 cigarettes a day and must have a desire to quit smoking. The cost is £25, which is waived if the smoker is not cured.

“This is a venture I am very passionate about. I was a heavy smoker for 35 years, so I know how hard it can be to quit with willpower alone. For many people it’s just about impossible. Hypnotherapy allows us to harness the limitless power of the unconscious mind to make quitting easy and without noticeable side effects,” says Wesdorp.
