General Electric (GE) Healthcare has acquired VersaMed Corp with intentions to expand GE’s capabilities in respiratory care management. The newly formed duo hopes their coming together will lead to substantial customer benefits through complementary product and service offerings.

VersaMed is the maker of high-performance portable ventilators for a range of health care settings. The iVent201 is an intensive-care-grade ventilator and has been selected by a number of governmental and health care organizations as a key part of their emergency care plans. GE Healthcare is a provider of advanced technologies for acute respiratory care.
