The mHealth Summit 2009, hosted by the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health (FNIH) will take place October 29-30 at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, DC.

According to the Foundation for the NIH, the mHealth Summit 2009 is the first summit focused on exploring the partnership between biomedical research and the use of mobile technologies to improve public health.

In an announcement about the Summit, the Foundation for the NIH stated, “The mHealth Summit will bring together domestic and international researchers and policymakers with technology experts and visionaries to: build a bridge between clinical and biomedical researchers with mobile technology experts to identify mHealth solutions to public health challenges; foster integration of mobile and medical technology to improve delivery of health care to underserved populations;  examine current policies regarding mobile health technologies and their use in reducing or eliminating domestic and global health disparities; discuss and craft a vision for the integration of biomedical research with mHealth technologies moving forward.
